Fighting for Farmers & Rural Communities
For too long, Washington and Albany have treated rural communities like ours as an afterthought. Josh is fighting to make sure our farmers, small towns and local economies aren’t left behind, and that Upstate New York finally gets its fair share.
Standing Up for Family Farms
Big ag monopolies have too much power, and family farms pay the price. Josh is fighting to level the playing field so local farmers—not corporate giants—come out ahead. Josh’s Local Farmers Feeding Our Communities Act helps get fresh, local food to schools and families while supporting the farmers who produce it. And when Washington bureaucrats tried to back out of contracts with more than 150 Upstate farms, Josh introduced the Honor Farmer Contracts Act to force the government to keep its word. We kept the pressure up and won–every single contract cancelled by the administration to our Upstate farmers has now been restored.
Expanding Access to Healthcare
Reckless policies in Washington have pushed rural hospitals to the brink, and left families driving hours just to see a doctor. Josh is working across the aisle to ensure everyone can get the care they need close to home with the CONNECT for Health Act, which expands coverage of telehealth services, and the Rural Hospital Stabilization Act that helps the providers serving our communities keep their doors open.
Repairing Our Bridges and Roads
Too often, Upstate families are forced to drive on crumbling roads and dodge dangerous potholes. That’s why Josh introduced the Agricultural & Rural Road Improvement Act to help repair and modernize the roads and bridges we rely on. Better infrastructure means lower costs, fewer delays, and safer trips.
